GEOGRAPHY
Located at the Northern part of Luzon, bounded on the East and North by Cagayan, on the West by llocos Norte and Abra, on the south by Kalinga.
LAND AREA
The largest province in CAR in terms of land having an area of 5,113 sq.km. which covers almost 27% of the Region’s total land area.

POLITICAL SUBDIVISION
Composed of seven (7) municipalities namely: Calanasan, Conner, Flora, Kabugao, Luna, Pudtol and Sta. Marcela with Kabugao as the Provincial Capital, it has a total of 138 barangays.

LANGUAGE/DIALECT
Ilokano, Isnag and Tagalog.

CLIMATE
Corona’s Type II Classification: dry seasons starts on the month of march up to the month of may and the rest is wet season
WATER RESOURCES
Apayao is rich in water resources. About 75 percent of Cagayan’s area is drained by the 180 kilometers long Apayao river, the largest and most important body of water in the province. Other important rivers in the province include the Matalag river in Conner, Maton and Nagan rivers in Pudtol and the Zumigue-Ziwanan river of Calanasan.
MINERAL RESOURCES
The province’s rich endowment in mineral resources is evident in the presence of metallic and non-metallic mineral resources like primary copper and manganese. Raw materials for cement manufacturing are found in Calanasan, Gold and ore are estimated to be 53 million metric tons remaining untapped in Kabugao and Conner. Massive limestone deposit is also explored in the “Marble Mountain of Butao.
