The quaint town of Conner can be found in the southern part of the province, skirting the boundary that separates Apayao from Cagayan and Kalinga. Every harvest season, the municipality holds the Panagbunga Festival, a thanksgiving celebration originally initiated by Ireneo Ortega, a Vietnam- Trained farmer and owner of the first and biggest fruit farm in Conner. He successfully cultivates various local and exotic fruits such as cacao, coffee, dragonfruit, mangosteen, and durian. The festival is then officially adopted by the local government in 2011. Apayao State College, a public institution that leads the research in the fields of forestry and agriculture in the province, can also be found here. ASC Museum resides in this college. It maintains a collection of artefacts that reflect the history of the Cordilleras.
